III. Tour to visit Brtník, the bear of the zámek Zákupy
The location of the third of Hidden gems, Zákupy, is about 10 kilometres far from Česká Lípa. In case it is your first time there, we recommend you to visit zámek Zákupy (the Castle). It was built in the 16th century and it used to be a summer residency of Habsburgs dynasty. In case you keen on technology, the unique elevator (18th century) powered manually is a part of the exhibition there. For those of you that feel more as biologists the exposition with the bear that used to guard the castle might be interesting. In addition, there are two parks nearby – in French and in the English style. Furthermore, you can have a nice walk around the Kamenický potok valley to Ferdinand’s viewpoint. To test your soft skills také a break in Eduard Held Muzeum and make your own carnival mask so popular for this region.
