VI. Tour to visit elephants in Lužické hory
The track of the sixth of Hidden gems is hidden in Lužické hory. Our trip starts in Rynoltice (about 40 km far from Doksy), if you continue on foot there is another small village called Polesí. A couple of metres east there is a viewpoint called Havran v Polesí (the Raven). Then we recommend you to visit Horní skály, an area popular among climbers. In case your heart belongs to sandstones and rocks in general, you will be certainly pleased with Kozí hřbety. Following the road, you will get to our final destination for today. These unique white rocks called Sloní kameny remind two relaxing elephants on a sunbathing break. The upper layer is a sandstone with a higher content of kaoline, which causes the white colour of the whole complex. Furthermore, follow the road and you will close the loop and get back to Rynoltice.
